My mother‘s wish was to be home during her final days and as a family, we all agreed to carry out her final wishes. With hospice in place and family by her side, we had zero knowledge of the journey we were about to embark on. Even though we had medical professionals in the family, we had zero experience with hospice and homecare. Without Leslee and her services, I can’t even begin to fathom how we would have navigated the healthcare system, the options and services, along with the tools that were available to us. I first met Leslee at our Church Home Group gathering and as she entered the home, I noticed that her attention went directly to my Mum who was sitting in a recliner. Leslee knelt to greet Mummy and I was struck by her gentle approach to my Mum. I knew immediately that she was in the field of 'caring'. I got to know Leslee through our group and grew to love her passion for those whose families have been told to make your loved one 'comfortable'. I learned from Leslee what that meant. That time came for my 94 year mother and Leslee was there for her and me from that pronouncement to the peaceful passing of Mummy into the arms of Jesus. Leslee's professionalism, knowledge of the healthcare system, tenacity and take charge of the medical situation demeanour injected and demanded the urgency necessary that got Mummy quickly from a hospital setting to the comfort of being at home. At home, Mummy was honored and blessed to have her loved ones love on her and say their goodbyes in a beautiful and peaceful environment. None of this sweet, peaceful, transition, not only for Mummy but for me and my family, could have happened without Leslee's intervention. She did all of this for us as a friend who I call my ANGEL sent by God to Mummy and my family. I am more than honored to recommend Leslee and her services to anyone who cares about making your loved one secure and comfortable in the final chapter of life.
